Potions are restorative items that can be used to heal.

Mechanics

Potions trigger a burst of health recovery when used. They are dropped by Enemies, as well as bosses when hit, and can be picked up by walking over them.

Acquired potions are stored in the player's belt, using up potion slots (determined by the active belt's type and modifiers). Excess potions remain on the ground upon pick-up. If the player is full on potions and is not on full health, potions are immediately used when walked over.

Potions can also be used manually ("1" key by default) at any time. Using one heals the player for a set amount of health (scales with character level), and triggers any 'on potion use' effects. Some abilities can also intermittently use potions.

Potions also have a set drop rate, which greatly increases if the player has space left in their belt. This can be further increased by Chance To Find Potions modifiers.

Other Effects

Depending on various belt affixes, potion uses can also trigger some other effects:

  • Ward Recovery: much like health, ward is added to the player. A portion of health recovered can also be converted to ward.
  • Freezing Concoction: freezes enemies around the player.
  • Ailment Cleanse: cleanses negative ailments from the player.

Some modifiers may convert part of the health recovery to ward, which is applied simultaneously with the recovered health.
