==Overview== Health is a regenerating resource that determines how much damage a character can take before dying. Taking hits and using some Skills depletes the health pool. ===Limit and Regeneration=== The health pool can be increased by gaining levels on a character, as well as building Vitality, equipping items with various Affix Shards, and through certain Passives. Health is regenerated naturally at a rate of 6 HP / second, which can be regained additionally to the above ways through Health Regeneration, the Potion, and Leech. ===Mitigations=== Hits against health can be mitigated by Resistances, Endurance, Armor, Block, Dodge, Critical Strike Reduction and Critical Strike Avoidance. ===Downed Characters=== When a character's Health reaches zero, they are downed. Depending on type, characters have different downed states: *Players die. They must forfeit their progress and can resurrected at the nearest checkpoint. Hardcore player characters are also moved to their respective Softcore group. *Minions and totems also die. They are removed from the level and they can be summoned again. The oldest minion of a type also dies, when summoning a minion would exceed the limit for that type. *Companions do not die right away. Instead, they are left in an immobilized state, during which they can be revived by a Player standing close to them. The Player has a limited time for the revival, and failing to do so result's in the Companion's death. Dead companions can be re-summoned.
