Gold is a type of currency used by players for trading in Last Epoch.
Description[ | ]
Gold is a common commodity throughout the World of Eterra. Once found and walked near, it is automatically picked up and added to the player's balance.
Gold can be used to buy assorted items from vendors. Previously sold items can also be bought back with a large hike on the price.
Acquisition[ | ]
Dropped Loot[ | ]
The primary source of gold is collecting piles of them as dropped loot from fallen enemies. Destroyed/opened containers also yield some, but their rate is greatly reduced. Higher level zones tend to reward larger gold piles.
Sometimes, a Shrine of Wealth may be encountered in a zone. When activated, it drops about 12-16 gold piles in varying sizes.
Monolith Reward[ | ]
The Monolith of Fate rewards piles of gold after completing an echo from the ornate chest. The echo may also grant additional piles of gold, if it has the associated reward type and it is completed without dying previously.
Trade[ | ]
Selling items to vendors and the gambler Artem grants gold, depending on its type and rarity, if applicable. Commonly craftable items and idols are usually worth very little gold.
The Merchant's Guild also allows trading directly with other players for gold.
The Lightless Arbor[ | ]
In this dungeon, the Vaults of Uncertain Fate can be shaped at will by spending gold at its entrance. When accessed, the player is offered two choices that add more chests and improve their contents, until the player bails and opens the room. Successive decisions require more gold, but their effects are also better, the further the player progresses.
