The Immortal Emperor is a master of necromancy and undeath. His sheer knowledge makes his adversaries and most loyal ones bend before him, as he commands life and death at whim. The Emperor is capable of storing and harnessing lifeforce as a catalyst, as well as he can gift immortality to his trusted enforcers.

History[ | ]

Post-Divine era[ | ]

With the Gods' demise, the Immortal Emperor rose to reign. His dominance was quick to develop, fielding unlimited masses of undead and cooperative cultists. Under his strong control, the Emperor offered the gift of immortality to some of his most trusted loyals. With the refusal of the Outcast Queen, the fate of opposing living was quickly sealed, forcing most of their ranks to flee into hiding, forming the undercover community of The Outcasts.

With none left opposing, the Emperor founded the Immortal Empire: a long-lasting state spreading throughout the World of Eterra.

Imperial era - 1005 AG[ | ]

The Immortal Empire has thrived under the Emperor's control: the number of undead was continuing to bolster, while the remnants of the living were insatiably strangled for their souls and bodies. The Emperor would stockpile and store these to reinforce his army and create a network of artificial waypoints all over Eterra.

The Emperor takes note of the Traveler after they arrive through time and challenge his rule. Even though two of his henchmen, Admiral Harton and Spymaster Zerrick die, as the Traveler navigates through right under his radar, the Emperor devises a ploy to attract his newfound guest to his Citadel by capturing Alric. The lure works and the Traveler confronts the entire second-in-command, only for the Emperor to interrogate him after the ordeal. Just before the Emperor could commence, High Pontifex Yulia encases the Emperor in ice and commands the Traveler to travel to the Divine era, after the Lance of Heorot is not found, in order to attempt to gain the blessings of the Gods.

Whatever happens next is unknown, however the Immortal Empire continues for a few hundred years more.

Ruined era - 1290 AG[ | ]

At one point in the distant future, the Void emerged from countless places, tearing holes in reality's fabric. This purple substance took form in numerous forms, infesting and corrupting whatever it came across.

The Void also reached the Immortal Emperor, twisting his body and mind. Its influence has not been complete however, as the Emperor fled to The Temple of Eterra, laying hands on one of the Shards of The Epoch. The Shard's protective power allowed him to remain bound to life, but most of his magic evaporated by then.

The Emperor is discovered by the Traveler in 6020 AG, as they seek out the last Shard in order to reform the Epoch. The two have a fierce duel, which ends in the Emperor's defeat. The Emperor concedes the Shard, as his remains are being sucked up by the Void, putting an end to his existence.
